Behind the Scenes...
Hi, I’m Kate – founder, maker, self-confessed caffeine addict, and the heart behind Wax & Lye. What began in late 2017 as a hobby between episodes of The Wiggles and In the Night Garden quickly spiralled into a creative obsession that’s become my full-time passion (and job!)
At the time, I was a stay-at-home mum to two beautiful girls, making candles during nap times and evenings to share with friends and family. After many months of testing, trial and error, and the occasional wax-related disaster, I found my groove – and soon my little hobby grew into market stalls, a full product line, and eventually, Wax & Lye was officially born.
Since then, what started as scented candles has blossomed into a full artisan collection of handmade soaps, home fragrances, bath and body treats, thoughtful gifts, and bespoke made-to-order products – all created right here in my custom-built workshop on our family farm. I even share a few behind-the-scenes moments (and occasional chaos) over on our YouTube channel.
Wax & Lye is still proudly small, still handmade with care, and still made by just me. Every product I make is crafted with quality, creativity, and a whole lot of love — and I’m so grateful for your continued support that lets me keep doing what I love every single day.
